Ramos, co-founder of the San Manuel Band of Mission Indians’ Cultural Awareness Program and director of the California Indian Cultural Awareness Conference at California State University, San Bernardino. Ethnic Studies Webinar Series: Asian American Studies
The third webinar in the Ethnic Studies Informational Series focuses on Asian American Studies. Hosted by State Superintendent Tony Thurmond, it features Dr. Karen Korematsu, educator, civil rights advocate, and daughter of late civil rights icon Fred Korematsu. She’s also the Founder and Executive Director of the Fred T. Korematsu Institute, a nonprofit that educates to advance racial equity, social justice, and human rights for all. It will also include students and members of CDE’s newly formed Youth Advisory Council.

The second webinar in the Ethnic Studies Informational Series focuses on Chicano Latino Studies. Hosted by State Superintendent Tony Thurmond, it also features civil rights activist Dolores Huerta; Assemblymember Jose Medina, who drafted legislation to make ethnic studies a high school graduation requirement; students; and members of CDE’s newly formed Youth Advisory Council.
