Expanding BLU College Foundation’s College Success Initiative by hiring more college success advisors to recruit and support Inland Empire students as they prepare for college.

To build the infrastructure and capacity for a College & Career Navigator Network to support student transition from high school to college. Plans are to hire and train 20 college advisors. 10 advisors will be current college students.

To help students with emergency deposit support for college deposits (i.e., housing and enrollment), partner with Student Success Academy to expand mentor to class of 2020 students, and create a fellowship program for undocumented students.

To purchase devices with 4G capabilities for students to take college exams online.

To support the class of 2020 with outreach and support (social media campaigns, targeted student outreach, nudge texting campaigns, sharing materials) and to train additional student success advisors and volunteers.

To sign-up Inland Empire households for affordable broadband, provide free computer devices, support for a Student Success Advisors program with San Bernardino Valley College’s Workforce
Development Department, and creation of a foodbank for underserved communities.

To fund tablets, iPads, and pencils for teachers to be able to write on the board like they do in class. Also, to provide gift cards for food and hygiene products for students in need.

On a case-by-case basis, to provide students support via hotel vouchers, rent, food distribution/grocery store gift cards, hygiene products, internet access, school supplies.
