    Round 1 Recipients Announced

    The recipients of Round 1 funding have been announced. The list of awarded projects is available for review at: https://www.iek16collaborative.org/awards.

    Call for Round 2 Proposals

    The submission window for Round 2 proposals is now open through April 1, 2024. Details for proposal submission are provided at: https://www.iek16collaborative.org/rfp.

    Technical Assistance Webinar

    A Technical Assistance Webinar is scheduled for February 21, 2024, at noon, to address questions related to Round 2 proposal submissions. Registration is available at: https://ucr.zoom.us/webinar/register/WN_jmn0ls-xQhWPI1TiBqXekA#/registration.

    GIA Support Sessions

    GIA will host two support sessions: one on Monday, February 26, at 3 pm, and another on Thursday, February 29, at 10 am. These sessions are intended to assist with proposal creation and to enhance partnership connections.

  • $18 million awarded to Inland Empire K-16 Collaborative

    $18 million awarded to Inland Empire K-16 Collaborative

    UC Riverside, the Lead Education Agency for the Inland Empire K-16 Education Collaborative, recently announced that the Inland Empire region will receive $18 million to address equity gaps and improve education-to-career pipelines.

    “The Regional K-16 collaborative program, administered by the Department of General Services, Office of Public School Construction, and Foundation for California Community Colleges, is intended to build on or create collaboration among the University of California system, the California State University system, community colleges, K-12 school districts, and workforce partners so that students have clear career pathways that begin in elementary school,” according to to the UCR announcement. “Once the grant funds are received, a steering committee of regional partners will ensure funds are equitably disbursed across San Bernardino and Riverside counties, including in remote areas.”

    “We want to thank all of the Inland Empire partners who have been working diligently on the application since early this year,” said Dr. Carlos Ayala, President & CEO of Growing Inland Achievement. “This grant aligns directly with our shared vision to increase equitable educational attainment in the region and will accelerate network efforts to improve education-to-career pipelines for our students.”

    K-16 Collaboratives Grant Administrator (OPSC) to Host Webinar on February 25

    Webinar Date Announced: February 25, 2022

    The office overseeing the Regional K-16 Education Collaboratives Grant Program will be hosting a live webinar on February 25, 2022, at 10:30 a.m. Several participants from the Inland Empire K-16 Education Collaborative (GIA, IEGO, IECF, etc.) will be in attendance to bring details back to Inland Empire stakeholders in a regional debrief meeting at 1:00 p.m. the same day. However, all interested parties are encouraged to participate in the OPSC webinar as well.

    The webinar will include an overview of the grant opportunity, including a Phase 1 round this spring for mature existing collaboratives and a later Phase 2 round of planning and implementation grants for collaboratives in earlier development stages. The webinar will also describe the legal requirements for this program and provide an opportunity for stakeholders and potential applicants to ask questions and share ideas.

    Established in the 2021 Budget Act, this program is part of a statewide strategy for both strengthening education-to-workforce pathways and ensuring that education, vocational, and workforce programs work in partnership to address the income, racial, and gender inequalities in education and employment.

    This one-time $250 million investment will fund robust regional collaboratives involving K-12 districts, community colleges, state universities, and workforce development entities.
